We’ve traveled to Fiji countless times and even got married here, and we always book some tours every time we return. As adventurous travelers, we can never say no to things like jet boating and ziplining, and who doesn’t love a bit of island hopping?

We’ve pretty much done it all, so now we’re going to share our favorite tours with you. So grab your sunscreen and let’s get into it!

Best cultural tour: 

It may not be at a real Fijian village, but the performances and food at this cultural night tour were incredible! While you can see fire dances pretty much everywhere in Fiji, this one was hands down my favorite. Tickets for this tour cost $78 USD per person and can be booked online here.

We love sightseeing tours that take you to a bunch of cool and unique areas, and this half-day Nadi tour does exactly that! This Mamanuca Island Tour is by far the most popular sailing tour on our list, and for good reason too! At $135 USD per person for an 8-hour cruise, it really is great value. 1. Cruisin’ Fiji excursion 

It is nearly impossible to see all 300 of Fiji’s islands in a single trip, but you can get strategic about your day excursions to see as many as possible!

This Mamanuca Island Tour is an all-inclusive day trip that’s the perfect mix of exploration and relaxation as you snorkel your way through the vibrant reef, then chill out on the beach with a traditional Fijian lunch. Simply indulge in the authentic island life – sit back, relax, and enjoy the ocean breeze.  

Your adventure begins by departing from Port Denarau. The scenery is nothing shy of incredible, while you are floating on clear blue water you will pass by beautiful white sand beaches and lagoons. 2. Visit Seventh Heaven Floating Bar

Spending a day relaxing on a floating platform in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean is basically our idea of heaven. Well, Seventh Heaven Fiji is the perfect place for that!

We took a trip out to Seventh Heaven with some friends and wow did we have a fantastic day!

The tour to Seventh Heaven leaves from Port Denaru and takes around 45 minutes each way. Once there, you can relax on day beds and drink cocktails as you gaze out onto the bright blue water, or jump off the side and go snorkeling. If you get hungry, order some delicious food, or just have a few cocktails. We did a mix of the above and it seriously was one of the best places we visited in Fiji.

The prices at the bar are very reasonable too – we were pleasantly surprised. We also never expected the cocktails and food to be so good due to the location. However, they tasted fresh and were some of the best we had in Fiji. Oh and with table service, we never had to go to the bar!

It’s arguably the best bar in Fiji and is located in some of the most pristine waters you’ll ever see! If the photos above don’t get you excited, I don’t know what will!

3. Malamala Beach Club day trip

This day trip to the Malamala Beach Club is the epitome of a tropical vacation. It’s on a private island (!!!) where you can spend the day doing basically whatever you want, whenever you want.

You can explore the island, sunbathe with a cocktail in hand, or go for a dip in the luxe infinity pool. There’s also lots of watersports equipment available, so you can go snorkeling, kayaking, or SUPing. We wrote a full review of the Malamala Beach Club if you want all the details, but safe to say, it’s a place you don’t want to miss! 

Basically, it’s the ultimate VIP experience. You’ll be among a select few who get to visit the world’s first beach club that has its very own island!

This tour to Malamala includes your boat ride from the Port Denarau Marina in Nadi, and free bus transfers to the port from Nadi, Denarau, Wailoaloa, and the Coral Coast. Food and drinks aren’t included in the price, and alcoholic drinks in Fiji are generally pretty expensive, but there is a deal where you can try 5 different cocktails for about $45 USD, which we really don’t think is too bad a price for a private island! 

It costs $75 USD for a half-day trip or $84 USD for a full day, so we think you may as well go for the full-day option and enjoy even more time here – but of course, it depends on what fits your itinerary and preferences!

4. Sunset dinner cruise and cultural show

A sunset cruise is a really nice way to spend an evening in Fiji, and when you throw dinner and a cultural show into the mix, you’ve got yourself one amazing experience! 

This Fiji sunset dinner cruise includes a three-course dinner, where you can choose between barbecued fish or steak, and even upgrade to lobster!

Then, after you’ve eaten, you get to watch a traditional cultural show involving singing and dancing. We absolutely loved the cultural shows we saw when we were in Fiji, and we thought that all of the performers were super talented. Plus, there’s nothing quite like watching a Fijian sunset from the comfort of a luxury boat. Overall, we consider this one of the best day cruises in Fiji because it’s such a wonderful experience from start to finish!

This tour costs around $81 USD if you opt for the buffet, or $138 USD for the lobster dinner. You’ll be welcomed on board with a complimentary cocktail, but all of your drinks after that will be at your own expense. Hotel pickup from Nadi and Denarau is included, but it costs around $20 USD extra if you’re coming from either the Hilton Doubletree or Momibay resorts.

5. Snorkel with sharks

Fiji is home to a huge variety of sharks, including lemon sharks, tawny nurse sharks, and blacktip reef sharks (which actually come pretty close to you, but aren’t dangerous!).

This shark tour will take you out on the water for a full day of snorkeling alongside these amazing sharks, and you’ll get to see lots of other vibrant marine life along the way, too.

You don’t need any previous snorkeling experience, as you’ll have an expert to guide you and keep you safe. Plus, shark attacks in Fiji are rare, so even though this experience will certainly get your adrenaline pumping, there’s really no need to be afraid. 

You’ll get around five hours out swimming with the sharks, plus some time on land to relax at the Barefoot Kuata Resort, where you’ll enjoy lunch and have time to lounge in a hammock on the beach, swim in the pool, or even go for a massage! 

This tour costs $155 USD and includes hotel pick up and drop off from most resorts in Nadi, Denarau, and Wailoaloa. You’ll also get lunch and time to chill at the Barefoot resort, but if you want any alcoholic drinks or massages, that will cost you extra! 

I also recently went diving with bull sharks in Fiji and that was even better than snorkeling! But snorkeling is an awesome way to get your feet wet if you’re not ready to swim with the big guys just yet.

6. Ziplining

We absolutely love ziplining, and this full-day tour will take you on a heart-racing adventure through the treetops. You’ll get to explore a 16-cable course that covers 5 kilometers (3 miles) and takes you through limestone caves. There’s also a guided exploration of the caves, so you really will feel like Indiana Jones! 

There are also some beautiful ocean views to enjoy as you sail through the trees and to top it all off, lunch is also included. We think this could be a great family day out, as long as your children are over the age of 5, or it’s also great for couples on a honeymoon in Fiji or groups of friends. 

Another thing that we love about this tour is that your guide will also teach you about the history, geology, and ecology of Fiji as you go, as well as share lots of cultural stories. So not only is it an amazing adventure, but it’s also a fun way to gain more insight into life on the beautiful Fiji islands. 

The tour costs $120 USD per person, and lasts for about 5 hours, so you can choose to go in the morning or the afternoon. All of your transport, activities, and hotel pick up and drop off are included, so everything is taken care of for you.

7. Full-day adventure combo tour

We highly recommend this adventure tour to Navua because it includes loads of adventurous and cultural activities, so you get a really well-rounded experience. You’ll start off with a boat ride along the Navua River, where you’ll pass farms, rainforests, and local villages until you reach the Magic Waterfall, where you can swim in the pool beneath the rushing water. 

From there, you’ll climb aboard a bamboo raft, which is a traditional form of travel in Fiji, and then head to a local village where you’ll meet Fijian warriors, enjoy a welcome ceremony, and learn all about the village’s history. You can watch a war dance and a snake dance (the latter of which you’ll actually get to join in!) and try your hand at fabric painting. 

And last but not least, there’s also the chance to try kava, a traditional drink made of ground-up plant root that’s famed for its relaxing properties, although you do have to drink quite a lot of it for this feeling to kick in. (Just a warning, it tastes pretty bad, but we recommend having a glass just for the cultural experience). 

This tour costs between $80 to $125 USD, depending on where you’re being picked up from, and it also includes a “lovo” lunch, which is cooked in an underground oven and usually consists of meat and vegetables wrapped in banana leaves. We definitely think that trying a lovo meal is a must when you’re in Fiji! 

We really think this experience is one of the best tours in Fiji since you get to dive deep into Fijian culture and learn all about local customs, while packing in some adventurous activities at the same time.

8. Fiji night show and tour 

Watching a fire show was one of our favorite Fiji experiences, and we saw one as part of this night tour in Fiji Cultural Village. It’s a mock village where you can tour the bures (traditional Fijian bungalows), observe traditional handicrafts, and meet the chief! 

There’s also a kava ceremony, where you get to try this very earthy (read: muddy) tasting drink and learn all about its cultural significance. After that, you’ll enjoy a “lovo” dinner, which tastes much better – and you can even watch the food being removed from the underground oven to learn more about this unique cooking process. 

Then, as you eat, you’ll enjoy a cultural show involving singing and fire dancing, which really is incredible to watch. We thought that the dancers were insanely talented, and towards the end, they even invited some of the audience to join in! 

For us, a visit to the Cultural Village is a can’t-miss experience while you’re in Fiji and we’re so glad that we went.

9. Jet boating 

Many people visit Fiji just for the beaches, but we think that this jet boat ride along the Sigatoka River is an amazing way to see a slice of this country’s dramatic landscapes. From caves and hills to jungles and sand dunes, you’ll get an amazing perspective from the water.

Plus, you’ll travel pretty fast at times, so it’s also an exciting experience! You’ll start by zooming down the river through the wild jungle landscape, which presents great opportunities for wildlife spotting, and then you’ll visit a local village to experience a kava ceremony and meet some villagers, including the chief.

Your guide will take you on a walking tour around the area to learn about the local way of life and your group will have lunch together before you continue zooming down the Sigatoka. 

We think that this tour is such a fun experience, and a great way to see a different side of Fiji. It’s certainly not a sleepy boat ride – your driver will make lots of fast turns and 360-degree spins along the way, so you’ll most definitely be entertained. 

Prices start from $130 USD per adult if you drive yourself to the departure point in Sigatoka, $153 USD to be picked up in Nadi, or $143 USD including transport from the Coral Coast.

10. River tubing in Fiji 

For a tour in Fiji that offers the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure, this action-packed Fiji river tubing tour is our pick! The tour lasts approximately 6 hours, allowing you to lose yourself in pristine forests and unique history. 

We were picked up from our hotel first thing in the morning, before taking a peaceful journey by longboat up the Navua River. Our favorite part of the tour was visiting the beautiful Fijian village, where we played volleyball with the locals! But we also loved the main event – gently traveling back down the river on floating tubes. 

As this is a longer tour in Fiji, we felt we had plenty of time to enjoy ourselves and travel at our own pace. William and his team went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable at all times. It was fascinating to learn about his family history and Fijian culture – you can instantly tell that this tour was designed with the locals’ welfare in mind.  

Our hungry stomachs certainly appreciated the delicious and filling riverside lunch. We also recommend bringing some light snacks, water, and sunscreen to keep you topped up throughout the day. 

Operating year-round, this tour is fantastic for both solo travelers and big family groups. From $81 USD per person, it includes all the activities, transport to and from your hotel, as well as lunch (vegetarian options available if you give them notice).

11. Half-day tour of Nadi 

Nadi is one of the biggest cities in Fiji, and you can cover all of the main highlights in just half a day with this tour, so it’s great if you want to experience some of Fiji’s modern-day culture before heading back to the beach. 

You’ll visit the colorful Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple, which is actually the biggest Hindu temple in the Pacific, as well as head to a local market.

One of my favorite parts was seeing the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, which is a beautiful garden filled with thousands of orchids. There are lots of trails to explore in the garden and you can watch the frogs hop between the hundreds of lily pads in the ponds as you go. We thought it was absolutely beautiful, and spent about an hour exploring. 

Perhaps best of all and why this deserves a spot on our top tours in Fiji list is that this tour also takes you to the Sabeto Mud Pools and Hot Springs. This was definitely one of the best things to do in Nadi. You get into the mud baths and cover yourself in mineral-rich mud, then you wash it off and explore the different hot springs, which are all different temperatures. Trust us, your skin will feel SUPER smooth and soft after this. It’s an all-natural spa treatment! 

This tour costs $76 USD including hotel pick up and drop off if you’re staying in Nadi, or $103 USD per person from the Coral Coast. It’s a half-day tour that departs at around 9 am (or 8 am if you’re staying on the Coral Coast) and takes about 4.5 hours total, so you’ve still got the afternoon to chill out on the beach after a morning of exploration!

12. ATV quad bike adventure tour

What better way to experience Fiji than to get your adrenaline pumping? This ATV quad bike tour makes it easy to explore off the beaten path while learning about the area and snapping photos along the way.

We loved the chance to explore places you just can’t reach on a tour bus. Think driving through the jungle, up a mountain ridge, cruising by cane fields, and splashing through mud puddles. I also really enjoyed driving on the beach – you get the best views and really feel like you’re in a movie!

This half-day tour departs from Nadi. It passes by Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple (if you want to visit the temple, make sure you book the previous tour we mentioned!), and includes visits to a gorgeous mountain viewpoint and Wailoaloa Beach. 

To keep your energy up throughout the tour, some light snacks and refreshments are provided. This experience is family-friendly, however, to operate the ATVs, the primary driver must be 16+ with a valid driver’s license.

These tours run twice daily at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm. The experience lasts 2-3 hours and costs $166 USD per person. Keep in mind this tour operates in nearly all weather conditions, so it’s important that you dress appropriately (and it’s probably not a bad idea to bring a change of clothes with you either – especially if there are big puddles to drive through!).

13. Catamaran and snorkeling day trip

With the most beautiful turquoise-blue water, it’s a no-brainer that you have to go sailing at least once during your trip! Luckily one of Fiji’s top tours gets you out on the water with this full-day sailing tour on a brand-new catamaran.

You’ll feel like a real VIP aboard this 78-foot sailing catamaran cruising around the Mamanuca Islands. What we love about this tour is that it’s different every time. After getting a mimosa the moment you step on board (yes please!), our captain took note of the breezes and conditions of the day to decide our route.

No matter what route you take, you’ll find some secluded sand cays (basically tiny sandy islands near coral reefs) to relax at before you jump in the ocean or take the catamaran’s slide into the water to do a bit of snorkeling. All your gear is included too, so you’ll be able to travel light for this day on the water.

While getting off the catamaran is amazing, just relaxing on board is equally as nice. There are large shaded canopies, day beds, and even bean bags to relax on!

And did I mention the food?! It’s a step above with a gourmet buffet put together by an executive chef. The complimentary drinks (beer, wine, or soft drinks) after lunch were also a nice touch. Where to Stay in Fiji

Now that you know all of the best tours in Fiji, it’s time to find a great hotel for your stay. With so many choices, it can be hard to narrow it down. To help, these are my top picks for each area in Fiji that fit a range of budgets.

Nadi – The Ramada

Located right on Wailoaloa Beach, the Ramada is the most luxurious hotel in this area. It features an exclusive pool and restaurant for guest use only. It is the tallest building in the area offering incredible views of the coastline and sunsets!

Because of its close proximity to the airport (only a 15-minute drive), many people stay here for a night before or after their flight. It’s a good place to spend some time before catching a ferry out to an island. A King Studio Room with a sea view goes for around $200 USD.

Port Denarau – Radisson Blu Fiji Resort

The Radisson Blu Resort is just stunning, and for what you get, the price is very reasonable too. This resort is just huge offering tons of activities for both families as well as couples. There is an adults-only pool as well as an area specifically for kids. It is beachfront and offers spa services as well.

Rooms here start from around $400 USD per night and range from standard hotel-style rooms with king beds or two queens, up to two-bedroom suites. Some rooms feature courtyard views while others have a view of the lagoon. All rooms have a balcony and minibar.

Yasawa Islands – Barefoot Manta Island Resort

Barefoot Manta Island Resort is perfect for those wanting a real Fiji island getaway experience without paying huge amounts of money. Surrounded by a vibrant protected coral reef, this is the best place to go for ocean lovers. You can even swim with Manta Rays just off the shore from May- October!

They offer dorm beds for only $29 USD a night. There are also private beachfront bungalows available starting at around $200 USD per night.

You can easily get to Barefoot Manta Island Resort on the Yasawa Flyer ferry that departs Port Denarau regularly. The ride should take about 3 hours.

Mamanuca Islands – Beachcomber Island Resort

Beachcomber Island Resort is one of the most popular island resorts to stay in Fiji. Its affordable pricing mixed with its close proximity to Viti Levu make it one of the best places to stay in Fiji.

You can reach the Beachcomber Resort from Port Denarau by riding the Yasawa Flyer ferry. The ride should take about 2 hours.

There are many different rooms and bungalows to choose from – something for every budget! Remember all these prices also include ALL your meals. Dorm beds go for as little as $60 USD per night, whereas you can get a standard twin room for $225 USD. For those willing to spend a little more, their Oceanfront Bungalow will cost about $250 USD per night.

Coral Coast – Maui Palms

Mixing beach life and luxury, the Maui Palms is perfect for those wanting a bit of pampering on their holiday. There are lots of on-site activities and the snorkeling right in front of the resort is great. Expect an infinity pool, games room, bar, restaurant, and beautiful ocean-view villas with private balconies!

The location on the Coral Coast means you don’t need a boat to get there but can still experience some of the tranquility and beautiful beaches you might find on the smaller islands. There are also a few restaurants nearby, so you won’t be confined to the hotel.
