Day 1
Morning – Explore Hvar in a tuk-tuk
One of the best ways to familiarize yourself with a new place is a well-rounded tour that hits the highlights, teaches you about its history, and shows you its unique culture. That’s why we put this tuk-tuk tour of Hvar at the top of the itinerary. It was the very first thing we did when we arrived in Hvar, and we don’t regret it! To make the most of your day, book the 9 am option so you’ll be back in town and free by 11 am.
Our guide, Peter, was engaging, funny, and loved answering all of our questions. The first stop was Tvrdjava Fortica, which gave us panoramic views of Hvar and the Pakleni Islands. Peter gave us a fascinating look into the fortress’s history, which has played a pivotal role in defending Hvar throughout time.
From there, we ventured off the beaten path to Malo Grablje, an abandoned village that felt like stepping back in time. Wandering through its quiet stone streets and hearing about its past was both eerie and fascinating.
Next, we visited Velo Grablje, also known as the “Lavender Village.” The scent of lavender filled the air, and we learned how this tiny village was once one of the wealthiest on the island due to its lavender production. We couldn’t believe it was once such a powerhouse since it’s so peaceful now!
This was such a fun and comfortable way to travel! The whole experience was laid back, and with Peter as our guide, we even got some local recommendations on how to spend the rest of our time in Hvar.

Late morning – Snap photos of downtown Hvar
Hvar is undeniably beautiful, and it’s hard not to reach for your camera at every turn. After several visits, we’ve discovered a few spots that truly stood out as especially photogenic, and we think they’re well worth making time for.
- St. Stephen’s Square: St. Stephen’s Square is perfect for a wide-angle shot since the cathedral and harbor frame it perfectly. You can also head to St. Stephen’s Church for photos of this 13th-century structure.
- Waterfront Promenade: Wander along the promenade for dreamy shots of boats floating in the water and the Spanish Fortress.
- Franciscan Monastery: With a scenic shoreline and gorgeous garden, the Franciscan Monastery makes for some incredibly scenic shots.
- Random alleyways: Just follow your instincts and see where they take you! Hvar is full of small alleys with floral balconies, winding steps, and old brick buildings.
Lunch – Dalmatino
All of the best restaurants are family-run, and Dalmatino is no exception. With traditional Dalmatian flavors served with a modern twist, every dish is a delight. Truffle pasta, fresh caught seafood with in-house spice blends, and steak tartare are all standouts.

Afternoon – Kayak Around the Pakleni Islands
It’s time for another adventure! Except this go around, you’ll be kayaking around the Pakleni Islands in the most perfect water you’ve ever seen. Go ahead and book the 3 pm time slot for this one because we have more fun in store for you this evening.
What’s great about this tour is that you don’t need any kayaking experience since the water is super calm. Paddling around these islands was actually pretty relaxing!
We also appreciated that our guide, Piero, took the time to ask about our interests and customized the route to match them. Our group was up for an adventure, and Piero delivered.
He led us to a thrilling cliff-jumping spot and made sure we had plenty of time to snorkel in crystal-clear waters. The route was a perfect loop, packing in nonstop scenery without retracing a single step.
Speaking of which, our first stop of the day was a hidden cove where we snorkeled among colorful fish and even spotted an octopus. Then, we paddled to Mlini Beach for a swim and a drink before heading to secluded bays for some epic cliff jumping. Every stop was an absolute blast!

Dinner – Paradise Garden Hvar
All that kayaking and swimming will have worked up a mighty appetite, so after you get back, head to Paradise Garden Hvar. It’s a wonderfully laid-back restaurant with tons of greenery and excellent outdoor seating. We found this especially relaxing after a busy day.
They serve Mediterranean classics like pasta, seafood, and risotto that pair perfectly with their extensive wine and cocktail list. Make a reservation here so you don’t have to wait!
Evening – Stroll along the Hvar Riva promenade
If you aren’t too tired, take some time to walk along the Hvar Riva Promenade. At night, it’s especially beautiful when lit up and is a peaceful way to end the day.
There are plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the view, or if you’re up for it, there are tons of wine bars dotted along the waterfront. Our first activity doesn’t start until 10:15 am tomorrow, so enjoy the night or get some extra rest!
Day 2
Breakfast – Val Marina Restaurant
Val Marina Restaurant is right next to where today’s tour launches off from, so we think it’s the perfect spot to fuel up. This is our favorite tour in Hvar, so we want you to be ready for it! Their omelets, egg florentine, and perfectly made cappuccinos hit the spot. It’ll be a little while before you eat again, so pack some snacks in case you get the munchies.
Morning/Afternoon – Visit the famous Blue Cave and Vis Island on a day trip
Of all the things we’ve done in Hvar, this Blue Cave and Vis Island day trip is easily our favorite. It’s absolutely stacked with incredible sights and has plenty of opportunities to swim and snorkel.
The office is right next to where you had breakfast, so getting there by the 10:15 am start time is easy! It’s a full day, so expect to be back around 6:15 pm, but trust us, it’s worth it!
Since we took a speedboat, skipping across the water on our way to the Blue Lagoon, it made us feel like we were in a James Bond movie! As soon as we arrived, we grabbed our gear and jumped right into snorkeling in its crystal-clear waters.
Vis Island’s Green Cave was one of the most surreal sights of the trip—sunlight poured through the rocks, casting an eerie green glow on the water that felt like an underwater dream. Then came the legendary Blue Cave on Bisevo Island, where the electric blue light inside created a truly magical, otherworldly atmosphere.
The adventure didn’t stop there, either. We also got to admire the cliffs of Stiniva Cove and enjoyed lunch at a seafront spot on the Pakleni Islands.

Chances are you’ll want to freshen up at your hotel after a big day out. Once you’ve done that, head to Mediterraneo Dine & Wine for a world-class fine dining experience. Seriously, take a peek at the reviews and you’ll see that some people say this was the highlight of their trip!
It goes without saying you’ll want to make a reservation in advance since it’s so popular, so do that if you can. Once you’ve been seated, be sure to gawk at the incredible wine list and get excited since tomorrow we have a wine-derful (get it?) experience lined up for you.
Evening – Wind down at Ka’lavanda Bar
Wasn’t dinner good? I knew you’d like it! Well, we have one more recommendation before calling it a night, so shoot on over to Ka’lavanda Music Bar for another classy experience you won’t regret.
As the name suggests, you can expect good music, good vibes, and even better drinks. We love this spot because it’s lively, but not loud, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a big day.

Day 3
Breakfast – BB Club
Before heading out for the day, remember to dress comfortably since you’ll be taking an e-bike tour. Once you’re ready to go, make your way to BB Club for a great breakfast with a view. You can enjoy classic as well as Mediterranean-inspired breakfasts here, catering to all tastes. We personally went for a light breakfast consisting of fresh fruit, croissants, and an omelet.
This is only a 7-minute walk from where the tour starts at 9 am (you can always book it for later), and BB Club opens at 7 am, so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the morning.
Morning/Early afternoon – Enjoy a self-guided e-Bike tour
Since we have a wine tour planned for 4 pm today, you’ll want to book this self-guided e-bike tour for any time before 10 am so you have about an hour to an hour and a half to shower and change after you get back. Okay, now that we have that sorted, time to hit the trails!
What we love about this tour is that, since you’re on an e-bike, just about anyone can do it regardless of fitness level.
First up, we pedaled to the charming seaside village of Milna along forest paths and quiet roads with incredible views of the countryside. It was a perfect way to start the morning, and since it was self-guided, we could stop anytime we wanted to take it all in. This is also a good spot to grab lunch if you’d like.
From there, we cycled to Dubovica Beach, one of Hvar’s most stunning spots, with golden sands and crystal-clear waters. If you want to go for a dip, feel free! The cool water is super refreshing.
Later in the day, we made our way up to the Spanjola Fortress for breathtaking panoramic views over Hvar Town and the Pakleni Islands. After soaking in the scenery, we wrapped up the adventure with some well-deserved sunbathing at Pokonji Dol Beach.

Lunch – Gostionica Mala Milna
Chances are you’re partway through the bike tour right now and ready for lunch. We’ve got you covered! Make a quick stop at Gostionica Mala Milna and continue on your way. If you’re reading this after the bike tour, go ahead and grab something nearby. Just remember that we have a wine tour soon!
Late afternoon – Savor local wines on a tasting tour
Now that you’re back from your e-bike tour, it’s time to go wine tasting! This small-group tour comes with hotel pickup, so no need to rush anywhere for the 4 pm start time. It will take about 2.5 hours, so you’ll be back around 6:30 pm for dinner. If you fancy it, grab an extra bottle for tonight back at your hotel since it’s your final evening.
The afternoon began with a scenic drive from Hvar Town, winding through lavender fields, vineyards, and charming villages on the way to Jelsa. By the time we arrived, we were more than ready for a glass of wine.
At a cozy, family-run winery, we were welcomed like old friends and treated to an incredible tasting experience. We sampled seven different wines—each with its own story and character—and learned about local varietals like Plavac Mali and traditional Dalmatian winemaking. The standout? A velvety Prošek that tasted like Hvar in a glass.
As if the incredible wine wasn’t enough, we also got to taste locally made olive oils while soaking in the dreamy vineyard views, each one bursting with flavor. It was the perfect way to fully enjoy every moment of this unforgettable experience.

Dinner – Fig Hvar
After several glasses of wine (or more, let’s be honest), nothing hits the spot like a good meal. Fig Hvar is the perfect place to have some incredibly unique Mediterranean food with influences from around the world. Dishes such as pulled pork burritos, flatbread pizzas, and some of the best vegetarian food I’ve ever had. Plus, it’s all made with local ingredients!
There’s also no need to make a reservation for Fig Hvar. Just show up, and the friendly staff will take care of the rest.
Evening – Walk the streets of Hvar one last time
Ahh, the last night in Hvar. Depending on how you feel, you have a couple of options.
If you want to stay out and enjoy the evening, take a stroll past the harbor and through lantern-lit alleyways towards the main square until you wind up at BackLane Craft Bar. It’s cozy, quiet, and has outdoor seating. The drinks are expertly made, and they have a solid craft beer list as well.
Alternatively, you can head back to your hotel and pop open that bottle of wine you got from the tour earlier. There can never be enough wine. Either way, cheers to a perfect three days in Hvar!

Renting a Car in Europe
