If you’re considering staying at the Crown Towers in Perth, then I don’t blame you! It’s a beautiful and luxurious hotel, so I’m not surprised that it’s caught your eye.
However, it’s definitely on the expensive side, so it’s worth taking the time to make sure that you’re putting your hard-earned cash to good use.
I’m from Perth, and Bailey and I come back here to visit my family every year. The Crown Towers is an iconic hotel in the city and I’ve always wanted to stay here. So, on our most recent trip, we finally took the plunge, and now we’re here to share our honest review.
So stay tuned to find out whether the Crown Towers deserves all the hype, or if you should stay elsewhere.
About the Crown Towers Perth
The Crown Towers Perth sits on the eastern edge of the Swan River, right across the water from Perth CBD. This means that many of its rooms offer panoramic rooms of the city’s skyline, and guests can easily access the city center by driving, taking a taxi, or catching a quick train into town. In fact, the hotel even offers guests a free shuttle to and from the train station!
The sprawling resort was built in the 1980s, and it has had a reputation for luxury ever since. It’s famed for its huge casino, epic swimming pool, and lavish decor. There are also several fancy restaurants here, including Nobu, and a gorgeous Roman-style spa. In short, it’s THE place to stay in Perth.
Now, this is Australia we’re talking about, so I’m sure you won’t be surprised to find that all of this luxury doesn’t come cheap. However, I will say that you do get what you pay for here. Rooms start at $379 AUD per night for a deluxe king, or $439 AUD for a premier king, which looks out over the Swan River, offering fantastic views of Perth’s skyline across the water. During peak season, however, prices can go upwards of $800 AUD per night.

Amenities at the Crown Towers
The pool
The pool at the Crown Towers is absolutely incredible! It’s an enormous, multi-tiered pool, and it even has sun loungers in the water! It’s very luxurious and for us, it was one of the top perks of staying here. We definitely think it’s worth staying for at least two nights if possible, so that you get an entire day just to enjoy the pool.
Attached to the Crown Casino
The Crown Towers is attached to the Crown Casino, which is actually a must-visit attraction while in Perth! This is the only casino in Perth and the only place in Western Australia with poker machines.
However, even if you’re not much of a gambler, the Crown Casino is also an amazing entertainment venue that hosts a ton of world-class productions, including West End and Broadway musicals, live sports, and tribute acts. It’s definitely worth checking out what’s on while you’re here!
Beautiful restaurants
We loved the restaurants at the Crown Towers. Our favorite was Nobu, and we just had to treat ourselves to some fine Japanese dining here, but we also loved the breakfast at Epicurean, which is a buffet restaurant where we were well and truly spoiled for choice. We also went for cocktails at TWR and fell in love with the drinks, the decor, and the beautiful views of the Swan River!
Spa
The Crown Towers is home to one of Perth’s top-rated spas, which is open daily. It’s well known for its Roman baths and indulgent treatments, so if you’re looking for rest and relaxation, it’s a fantastic option to have on your doorstep. We didn’t actually make it to the Crown Spa, but hopefully next time!
Bike hire
The hotel and casino are surrounded by lush green parks – it actually feels a bit like staying on a private island! It’s easy to get out and explore because you can rent bikes from the hotel, and you can even purchase a picnic box to take with you. How cute is that?

What types of rooms are available?
Deluxe King/Twin Room
This is technically the most basic option available – but don’t worry, these rooms are a far cry from basic! With tablet-controlled temperature and lighting, and super chic decor, the deluxe king rooms are very luxurious. I particularly love the bathrooms, which have built-in TVs above the bathtubs, so you can be entertained while you soak! Price-wise, I’d say you’re looking at around $530 AUD per night on average for this type of room.
Premier King/Twin Room
Premier rooms are very similar to the deluxe options, but with one key difference: they overlook the Swan River. This means that in addition to all of the above, you’ll get a panoramic view of Perth’s city center and skyline. Premier rooms are a little more expensive at around $600 AUD per night, but if you’ve got room in your budget, I definitely think that the views are worth it.
Studio
The studios at Crown Towers have their own entrance halls and bigger living areas, so they’re a good choice for families. To be honest, though, I think that the real draw is the wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows, which make the panoramic views of Perth even better! A studio will set you back around $650 AUD per night.
Executive Suite
The suites at the Crown Towers are pretty breathtaking, and we think that the Executive Suite certainly makes for a bucket-list stay. It’s ideal if you’re looking for a bit more space than the typical room affords, as it features a bigger living area. Again this is a good choice for families, or business trips as there’s a double desk. Executive suites tend to cost around $1,040 AUD per night.
Premier Suite
I think that the Premier Suite would be ideal for honeymooners, as it has a pretty sizable dining area in addition to the living space. So if you’re looking for privacy, this is the room for you! It costs around $1,290 AUD per night and offers views over the parklands and the Optus Stadium.
Premier Club View Suite
In addition to a gigantic and opulent suite, the Club View version of the Premier Suite also looks out at the city over the Swan River, so you get incredible views through the huge, floor-to-ceiling windows. Plus, the room grants you access to the Crystal Club Lounge, which means you get a personalized check-in service, complimentary breakfast, and free drinks and canapés before dinner. This is the Crown Towers’ ultimate luxury option, so you’re looking at about $1,860 AUD per night for this, but man, what a bucket list stay it would be!

What I loved about staying at the Crown Towers
We had an incredible stay at the Crown Towers! We absolutely loved the pool and are so glad we had a whole day to fully enjoy it. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and all of the rooms are luxurious, so there’s no need to go for the most expensive category to feel like a VIP.
I also really liked the hotel’s location, as we liked being able to explore the surrounding parklands and having easy access to the city center. Having the casino on-site is great, too, as it’s the only place to go gambling in Perth and there’s always something fun going on there. The staff were very kind and hospitable, too, and they really went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful stay.
I do highly recommend staying here for at least two nights, otherwise you won’t get a full day to enjoy the pool. This is hands down one of the best things about staying at the Crown Towers, as the pool is one of the most beautiful pools in Perth, so you will definitely want some time to enjoy it. It would be such a shame not to!

What I didn’t like about staying at the Crown Towers
Honestly, we had no complaints. We loved staying here and definitely hope to do so again in the future. Sure, it’s on the expensive side, but it’s a luxury hotel and you really do get what you pay for.
Is it worth it to stay at Crown Towers Perth?
Absolutely! The Crown Towers delivered one of our all-time favorite stays, and we can’t wait to come back.
Activities to do While You’re in Perth
Now that you have a place to stay, it’s time to plan your itinerary by checking out all the fun things we like doing in Perth! This city is Daniel’s hometown, so we know it well! As such, we’ve compiled this list of our top activities.
- Visit Penguin Island – Penguin Island is just a 45-minute drive from Perth and is home to around 1,200 wild penguins along with nature trails, beaches, and places to swim and snorkel. You’ll need to take a ferry to the island – unless you want to kayak there instead!
- Rottnest Island – If beautiful secluded beaches, lazy island life, and adorable quokkas sound like the perfect day, exploring Rottnest Island is a must! This island is easy to get to, you can book a 25-minute ferry ride from Perth or take an island tour which includes biking and snorkeling for a full day of adventure.
- Go brewery hopping – Perth is full of great breweries! Check out Little Creatures in Fremantle or Northbridge Brewing Company in Perth CBD. You’ll get to try lots of unique brews and have a designated driver provided so you can simply enjoy.
- Day trip to the Pinnacles – The Pinnacles is one of WA’s most unique geological features, with thousands of limestone pillars standing in the desert! We visited the Pinnacles on this award-winning tour. The best part is stargazing surrounded by Pinnacles, and the night sky is breathtaking in the desert!
- Go museum hopping – Perth has a variety of super interesting museums, from the Art Gallery of WA to the Perth Cultural Center. Gamers won’t want to miss The Nostalgia Box Museum, and to learn all about gold and see the world’s largest coin, take a tour of the Mint!
- Check out Elizabeth Quay – This is one of Perth’s most popular areas, so spend an afternoon here! Walk across the pedestrian bridge for impressive river and city views, have lunch at the Lucky Shag, and explore the historic Bell Tower! We took this skip-the-line tour of the Bell Tower to learn more about its history and ring those iconic bells for ourselves – it was really cool!
