Our Top Choice

The tour we loved the most and suggest booking ASAP is this one!
Our personal FAVORITE thing we did in Milos was this sailing tour! We visited iconic beaches and sea caves by boat, snorkeling, and swimming. This is a full-day cruise on the Aegean Sea that includes food, drinks, and incredible scenery!
Things to do in Milos, Greece
1. Kayak through sea caves

Tour Details
Milos is such a beautiful island, with pristine beaches and volcanic sea caves, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get out and explore it by kayak. This guided kayak tour was one of the highlights of our trip, and we got to see so many gorgeous sites that we wouldn’t have visited otherwise.
We set off from Fyriplaka Beach and paddled towards Tsigrado Beach, which felt like a secret paradise. We loved exploring the golden sand and hidden sea caves, and even got to snorkel through the turquoise waters where we saw lots of marine life. Then, we enjoyed some homemade local snacks like koufeto on the beach before heading to our next spot.
From Tsigrado, we made our way to Gerakas Beach, a hidden gem that’s only accessible by boat. Here, we got to swim in the warm waters of the sea cave and take a dip in the natural hot springs. How cool is that?
Throughout the tour, we had complimentary use of a GoPro so that we could capture all of our magic moments. The guides were fantastic and paced the tour perfectly, sharing insider tidbits about the island with us and making sure we didn’t miss anything.
By the time we arrived back in Fyriplaka, we were both smiling from ear to ear. This tour is the perfect way to discover Milos’ hidden gems, and we would do it again in a heartbeat.
2. Sail to Milo’s most iconic beaches and caves

Tour Details
If you do one thing in Milos, make it this sailing tour. Exploring the island from the water is the ultimate way to experience its breathtaking coastline, hidden caves, and crystal-clear waters.
Our first stop was at Kalogries Beach, where we had so much fun snorkeling in the clear water and enjoyed some snacks to keep us going. Then, we climbed on a dinghy and went to explore the Sykia Cave up close. It was mesmerizing, and swimming here with sunlight filtering through the rock formations was a magical experience!
However, the highlight of the day had to be Kleftiko. It’s a breathtaking spot with dramatic white rock formations rising from the sea. We absolutely loved swimming in the cool water and exploring the hidden passageways.
After a freshly cooked lunch on board, we made one final stop at Agios Dimitrios, where we took a refreshing swim while admiring views of the Milos caldera. By the time we returned to shore, we were already wishing that we could do it all over again.
This tour is hands down, the best way to experience Milos. The crew was fantastic, the drinks flowed, and the scenery was beyond comparison. If you want to see the island at its absolute best, be sure to book this trip – you won’t regret it. Don’t just take our word for it, either – check out the glowing reviews here!
3. Go wine tasting at the famous Kostantakis Winery

Tour Details
We’ve done tons of wine tours in our time, but this one at Kostantakis Winery is truly unlike any that we’ve ever experienced! Tucked away in Milos’ volcanic landscape, this family-run winery is a true gem, and a must-visit while you’re on the island.
As soon as we arrived, the staff welcomed us like old friends. Our guide, Petros, led us through the beautiful vineyards and explained how the island’s unique climate and volcanic soil shape the flavors of their indigenous grape varieties.
This felt so much more personal than visiting a large, commercial winery, and we even got to see the traditional machines and facilities that Kostantakis still uses in production today.
One of the coolest parts of the tour was exploring the natural cave where the family stores their wines. We loved walking through the dimly lit tunnels which were lined with oak barrels, and really got a sense of how much passion goes into each bottle.
Then came the best part: the tasting. We sampled seven different wines, each of which was paired perfectly with local cheese and island-made delicacies. We even got to try the family’s homemade grape distillations, which was a truly unique treat.
The entire experience felt authentic and unhurried. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable but never pretentious, so it’s just as enjoyable for beginners as it is for seasoned wine lovers. If you want a truly unique, off-the-beaten-path experience, this is it!

4. Learn about Milos’ history and culture with a local guide

Tour Details
This half-day tour was the perfect way to experience the best of Milos, blending history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes in just a few hours!
From the moment we started, it was clear our guide, Nikolas, was passionate about the island, sharing fascinating stories and insights that brought each stop to life.
We began at the Ancient Roman Theater, perched on a hill with sweeping views of the Aegean. It was fascinating to learn how the iconic Venus de Milo was unearthed before we ventured into the eerie but awe-inspiring Catacombs of Milos. It’s one of the most significant early Christian burial sites in the world!
After that, it was onto the charming village of Plaka, where we enjoyed a guided walk through its narrow streets, whitewashed houses, and cute local shops. It truly felt like stepping back in time! Then, we visited the colorful fishing village of Mndrakia, where we admired its iconic boat garages which have been carved into the cliffs.
The grand finale of the day was the surreal Sarakiniko Beach. We instantly fell in love with its lunar-like cliffs and took a refreshing swim in its turquoise waters.
Milos is full of natural and cultural gems, and this tour allowed us to dive deep into the soul of the island. This tour is the perfect way to get to know this beautiful Greek Island, and we can’t recommend it enough.

5. Enjoy a day of snorkeling by speedboat

Tour Details
This speed boat cruise is one of the best ways to discover Milos’ breathtaking hidden spots, and since it’s a half-day tour, it’s perfect for those who are short on time. It was certainly one of the most thrilling adventures of our trip!
From the moment we boarded the speedboat, we knew this would be something special. The smaller boat meant we could reach secluded beaches and caves much faster than the larger tour boats, giving us more time to explore. Our first stop was Kleftiko, an otherworldly bay of towering white rock formations and sea caves. Snorkeling here felt like swimming through an underwater paradise!
Next, we zipped over to Sykia, Milos’ largest sea cave. It’s a beautiful cave with an open top, so we could see the sky as we swam inside. Our guides also captured some incredible drone shots here, which we received by email after the tour. We also stopped at a hidden bay where we enjoyed a guided snorkeling session and saw some fantastic marine life.
We also loved having so much time at Kalogries Beach, a stunning cove with almost transparent water. It felt like being in a natural swimming pool and floating in the calm water was so relaxing.
We also enjoyed beer and wine on board the boat, as well as interesting commentary from our guides throughout. With underwater photos and drone footage, we left with not just memories but amazing keepsakes. In short, this tour is an absolute must-do in Milos!

Renting a Car in Europe

Exploring Europe by car is a fantastic way to uncover hidden gems—think charming villages, scenic countryside, and off-the-beaten-path spots that trains and buses might miss. Driving here is generally straightforward, but it’s good to be prepared for some regional quirks.
We always use Discover Cars to book our rentals and can’t recommend them enough. It’s super easy to compare prices, check company ratings, find automatic cars (which can be tricky in Europe!), and add affordable full coverage insurance. If you want a full breakdown, check out our Discover Cars review here.

AIRALO e-SIM Up To 15% Off With Code “DTRAVEL15”
What’s an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital version of a SIM card. Instead of buying a little plastic chip and swapping it into your phone, you just download it. It connects your phone to a local network in whatever country you’re visiting — no stores, no waiting, and no fiddling with tiny cards.
In simple terms, it’s the easiest way to get data and stay connected while traveling.
We’ve tested a bunch of eSIMs over the years, and after a few frustrating experiences, we’ve found our favorite — Airalo. It’s fast, reliable, and incredibly easy to use. You can set it up in minutes (even my mom managed it solo on her first try!), and the prices are some of the best out there.
