The famous Sasquatch® Zipline is without a doubt the craziest zipline I’ve ever been on. It’s just one line—but it’s the longest and fastest in all of Canada, stretching over 2 km (1.3 miles) and soaring 600 feet (183 meters) above the ground. This one’s for serious thrill seekers!
The 1.5-hour adventure starts in Whistler Village, where you’ll check in, meet your guide, gear up, and go through a safety briefing. From there, you’ll ride the Blackcomb Gondola up the mountain, then drive even higher to the launch platform. That’s where the real fun begins—launching off the edge and zipping 7,000 feet (2,133 meters) down the mountain at speeds over 100 km/h (62 mph). Yes, I screamed!
Once I caught my breath, I looked around and really took in the stunning mountain and forest views. At the bottom, we were safely unhooked and rode the gondola back down with our hearts still racing.
The guides on this tour were fantastic and really helped calm my nerves. Trust me—you’ll need a little encouragement to take on this beast! We also loved the two side-by-side lines, so you can zip down with a friend. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure you won’t forget—just make sure to book ahead online to skip the long lines!

If you’re looking for a thrilling zipline course with the most lines in Whistler, this Eagle zipline tour is the one to book! With five epic lines—including Whistler’s second-longest at 2,400 feet (731 meters)—this adventure is perfect for adventure seekers or anyone who’s zipped before and wants to level up.
The fun kicks off in Whistler Village, where you gear up before riding the Olympic Station Gondola. The first line launches you across the valley on a wild 30-story descent—you can even go hands-free or upside down (I wasn’t brave enough, but it looked awesome!). We loved that this one has side-by-side lines, so you can fly through the air next to a friend or partner.
The rest of the tour had us zipping through gorgeous forest scenery with views of rivers, treetops, and mountains. In between the lines, we crossed a few suspension bridges and learned all about the local wildlife, ecosystem, and sustainability efforts from our knowledgeable guide.
This tour runs year-round and is open to anyone 6 and up, between 75–275 lbs. It’s very popular (look at the hundreds of 5-star reviews), so make sure you book early to secure your spot. Just wear sturdy shoes and bring your adventurous spirit—you’re in for a wild ride!

This Bear Zipline tour is our pick for first-time zipliners, families, or those nervous about the experience. It consists of 4 different ziplines ranging in length from 400-1,100 ft (122-335 meters), which is much shorter than the other ziplines mentioned in this post. I love that it starts with the shortest zipline and works its way up, so you can build your confidence as you go through the course!
Overall, the experience lasts between 2 and 2.5 hours. In between the ziplines, you will have the opportunity for a fun forest adventure as you navigate through 4 treetop suspension bridges, boardwalks, and trails through the stunning old-growth forest. We loved how passionate the guides were about the rainforest, and we learned so much from them during our walks through the trees!

Which Whistler ziplining tour is best for families?
Of all the tours, my top recommendation for families is this Bear ziplining tour. It consists of 4 ziplines and 4 treetop suspension bridges and is ideal for first-time riders and families with kids 6 years and older.
The guides really go the extra mile to ensure everyone is having a good time and feels safe and secure. While you will still get the thrill of flying through the sky, the course has shorter ziplines that travel slower than others on our list, making it a great option for kids or adults who’ve never ziplined before.
In between the ziplines, there are 4 suspension bridges to cross, breaking up the experience and making it more of an adventure!
This ziplining experience is great for little adventurers aged 6 and up. What we also love is that if you have a younger child who doesn’t meet the minimum weight requirement (65 lbs/30 kg), they can ride tandem with a guide and not miss out on the fun!

If you’re looking for the most exciting tour, the Sasquatch® Tour was by far the most epic zipline! Not only do you go faster than all the other ziplines in the area, but it’s also the longest zipline in North America and guaranteed to provide a thrill or, if you’re like me, a loud shriek!
You descend an intense 7,000-foot (2,133-meter) line – that’s more than 2 km (1.3 miles) in length. Plus, you’re doing it all at speeds exceeding 100km/hr (62mph). Instead of being a multi-line course like all the other adventures on our list, you will be soaring down one intense zipline.
Luckily, the views are absolutely breathtaking and almost provide a distraction during the descent!

If you’re traveling to Whistler, there are lots of different places to stay. I always recommend staying right in Whistler Village so you’re close to all the best restaurants and shops. After plenty of visits, I’ve narrowed down the best hotels for every budget to help you find the ideal base for your trip.
Just a heads up, Whistler books up fast, especially in peak seasons. I highly recommend reserving your hotel early to lock in the best rates and availability. With that said, here are my top picks!
Luxury – $$$
For a luxury hotel in the heart of Whistler, the Whistler Village Suites is my top choice. For Whistler, it’s still a great value hotel and has a stunning indoor/outdoor swimming pool, plus a bar, several hot tubs, and a well-equipped fitness center. As for the rooms, they’re so comfortable that you might not want to leave the property. Some of the suites even have balconies with mountain views!
Prices range from $300 to $800+ CAD, depending on season and room size. You can check availability and reserve your stay on Booking.com.
Mid-range – $$
Our go-to hotel in Whistler is the Adara Hotel. For us, it is the perfect mix of luxury and affordability with everything you need for a comfortable stay. They offer underground parking and are only a one-minute walk from the Whistler Stroll, so you can park your car and leave it while you explore Whistler Village.
They also have a beautiful outdoor pool and hot tub offering mountain views – perfect for relaxing in the evening. The loft rooms are our favorite, and most also offer mountain views from the upstairs patio.

Budget – $
Pangea Pod Hotel is a stylish, budget-friendly stay in the heart of Whistler Village, perfect for travellers who want to be close to the action without the high price tag. This unique pod-style hotel offers sleek, modern sleeping spaces with privacy screens and secure storage, along with inviting shared areas like a rooftop bar, café, and guest lounge. It’s ideal for solo travellers or couples who plan to spend their days exploring and their nights crashing somewhere simple and comfortable.

Renting a Car in British Columbia
If you’re arriving in British Columbia via plane, then I can’t recommend getting a rental car enough. British Columbia is a large province, and traveling between the best places to visit in BC requires transport. Although you can use public transport on some occasions, this means your trip will not only require more time but more planning.
Car rental in Canada isn’t relatively cheap, but it’s not that expensive either, especially if you get a budget car. The cheapest car with a pick-up and drop-off in different locations is around $100 CAD per day. The price does vary though, depending on the time of year. For car rentals, I use the website Discover Cars. It’s a search engine with lots of deals with good customer service. Another popular option is to rent a campervan or motorhome (only for the brave in winter). Using Motorhome Republic, you can search hundreds of deals across multiple companies to pick a great vehicle and the cheapest price.
