Altitude Tours Queenstown: Review
Dan and I love wine, so naturally, going on a wine tour (or two) while in Queenstown was something we just had to do! Luckily for us, we found Altitude Tours Queenstown, who offer not only a wine tasting tour but also a wine and craft beer twilight tour! We have had the opportunity to experience both of Altitude Tours Queenstown wine tours and have a thorough review and lots of info to share with you!
The Sampler Wine Tour
The first ever tour we did with Altitude Tours Queenstown was their Wine Sampler Tour. This tour is perfect for anybody who wants to spend a day tasting wine!
The Wine Sampler Tour takes you to four different wineries in the Gibbston Valley. On this tour expect to learn about various wine, the history of the Gibbston Valley, and tour a vineyard or two learning about the winemaking process – and don’t forget, you’ll get to try a lot of different wines!
This tour starts at 10 am and ends at 3 pm. Not only will you try lots of different wines, but you will also get to see some beautiful parts of the Gibbston Valley at the same time. Our tour guide taught us about the history of Queenstown, the gold rush, as well as some general info about the scenery we were seeing! It was really a full day tour.
Altitude Tours also does a Twilight Tour, which is perfect if you love beer as well as wine because at each stop there is the option to switch out wine tasting for a craft beer tasting!
The Twilight Tour starts later in the day (3:30 pm) so that if you are limited on time you can do something else in the morning that same day. The tour goes for about 4 hours and is a great way to spend an evening in Queenstown.
On the Twilight Tour, you will get to tour around the Gibbston Valley (similar to the Wine Sampler tour), but this time you go to three wineries/craft beer makers and also get an antipasto platter at the second stop!
Dan and I went on the Twilight Tour the other day and really enjoyed it. Since it was in the evening the ambience was relaxed and we had a great time!
Dan and I haven’t tried any of Altitude’s other tours, but we are sure they would be of equal quality to the ones we have tried! Altitude tours also do a Glenorchy scenic tour, and Glenorchy is a beautiful place to visit so I’m sure that one would be worthy of checking out also!
