This Western province is home to both sprawling prairies and the Rocky Mountains, providing an exciting road trip through varied terrain.

Edmonton and Calgary are the largest cities in Alberta and both make great starting or end points for a road trip to the mountains with many fun and interesting stops along the way. Most people head towards Jasper or Banff, but if you have the time we recommend going even further and exploring British Columbia too!

Alberta Rocky Mountain Road Trips

There is no better place to road trip in Alberta than the Rocky Mountains! We have driven through this area many times and still can’t get enough. It is home to the Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic drives in the entire world! This highway connects Jasper and Banff National Parks, and we highly recommend including it in your Alberta road trip itinerary if you have the time.
