Where to Stay in Fethiye, Turkey: 3 Best Areas & Hotels

This blog may contain affiliate links. Read our disclosure policy for more info

Wondering where to stay in Fethiye? We’ve got you covered!

First things first, Fethiye can refer to both the town itself and the wider district, which includes some seriously gorgeous beach resorts. And while they’re all in the same region, choosing the right base can make a BIG difference to your trip.

We love Fethiye because there’s so much more to it than beaches, from ancient rock tombs and lively bazaars to boat trips and paragliding over turquoise water. But do you want to be close to the action, stay near the famous Blue Lagoon, or enjoy a more laid-back beach vacation?

To help you decide, we’ve rounded up the three best areas to stay in Fethiye, plus our favorite hotels for every budget!

Don’t miss out!

Our Top Choice

This is the area and hotel we loved the most and suggest booking ASAP!

Our FAVORITE area to stay in Fethiye is the Town Center! We love its charming Old Town streets, lively waterfront restaurants, and beautiful marina. It’s perfect for first-time visitors!

We recommend Yacht Classic Hotel for its gorgeous marina views, beautiful swimming pools, and luxurious rooms. Plus, you’re just a short walk from the Old Town and some fantastic restaurants!

Overview of the Best Areas to Stay in Fethiye

Such a pretty city

Getting around Fethiye is pretty easy without a rental car. Local dolmuş minibusses connect Fethiye Town with Ölüdeniz and Çalış Beach, while seasonal water taxis run between Çalış and the town center. Still, your choice of base makes a BIG difference!

  • Fethiye Town Center – Best for first-time visitors – Stay here for walkable restaurants, historic sights, and easy access to boat trips. Yacht Classic Hotel has a fantastic marina setting and a gorgeous pool.
  • Ölüdeniz – Best for luxury travelers and iconic beaches – This is the spot for the Blue Lagoon, paragliding, and beach days, so stay here if you’re craving a real “vacation” feel. Symbola Oludeniz Beach Hotel fits that vibe perfectly with a pool and beautiful sea views, plus it’s just a short walk from the beach.
  • Çalış Beach – Best for families and affordable beach stays – This area is relaxed, with lots of opportunities for waterfront dining and sunset strolls. Lill Maison Hotel & City Club offers a beautiful pool and peaceful garden setting.

Important Tip

Multiple Fethiye trips have taught us that this city doesn’t reward spontaneity when it comes to planning. The good places get snapped up months in advance, leaving the overpriced and underwhelming options for last-minute travelers.

The sweet spot for booking Fethiye accommodations is 3-4 months out—enough time to secure good rates but not so far ahead that you’re locking in plans excessively early.

BEST FOR FIRST-TIME VISITORS

Pros

  • Walkable
  • Lots of restaurants and bars
  • Great for boat trips and exploring without a car

Cons

  • No sandy beach in the town center
  • Busier and less resort-like than the beachfront areas

If it’s your first time in Fethiye, we recommend staying in the town center. It’s a fantastic base for sightseeing and boat trips, and for enjoying the local food scene—that’s always a priority for us! Plus, many of the main attractions are within walking distance, so you won’t spend half your vacation getting from A to B.

One of our favorite parts of Fethiye is Paspatur, the historic Old Town, where narrow streets are packed with shops, cafes, and traditional Turkish restaurants. It’s a great place to wander without much of a plan, although stopping for a Turkish coffee is pretty much compulsory in our book!

For a bit of history, head uphill to the Amyntas Rock Tombs. These ancient Lycian tombs date back to the 4th century BC and are carved straight into the cliffs overlooking Fethiye. The views alone are worth the climb!

Then there’s the beautiful waterfront promenade and marina, with plenty of restaurants overlooking the yachts. Lots of boat trips depart from Fethiye’s harbor, too, so it’s a convenient base for exploring the coast.

The only real downside is that the town center has no sandy beach. However, you can easily catch a dolmuş to Ölüdeniz or Çalış Beach when you’re craving a beach day!

Dedeoğlu Port Hotel – $$$

If you want to stay right on Fethiye’s waterfront, Dedeoğlu Port Hotel is a fantastic choice! It’s located directly opposite the harbor, so you’ll be surrounded by waterfront restaurants and gorgeous views – what could be better? Plus, Fethiye’s Old Town is only a short walk away.

The rooms are modern and comfortable, with air conditioning and private bathrooms, and some have balconies overlooking the water. But one of the biggest highlights is the rooftop terrace, where you can enjoy a Turkish breakfast with beautiful views over the marina. Now that’s our kind of morning!

Free parking is also available, which is a bonus if you’re renting a car. You won’t find a swimming pool or a fancy spa here, but if you want a comfortable hotel with an unbeatable location, we think it’s a fantastic option. Expect to pay around $220–$260 USD per night, which is pretty reasonable for a waterfront stay in the heart of Fethiye!

If you’re looking for something more luxurious, Casa Margot Hotel is a gorgeous adults-only boutique hotel with an infinity pool, elegant rooms, and panoramic views over Fethiye Bay. There’s also a rooftop restaurant and a spa area with a sauna and steam room, making it perfect for a romantic getaway.

Yacht Classic Hotel – $$

We have to admit, the Yacht Classic Hotel is our favorite hotel in Fethiye Town! This gorgeous boutique property sits right on the marina, with beautiful swimming pools overlooking the yachts and a stylish Mediterranean feel.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, and some of the more luxurious suites even have private plunge pools or direct swimming pool access. There’s also a fantastic on-site restaurant called Mori, plus a spa offering traditional Turkish baths and massages.

And the location is another huge selling point! You’re within walking distance of Fethiye’s Old Town and waterfront restaurants, so you can enjoy resort-style facilities without feeling isolated. Rooms typically range from around $130–$300 USD per night, depending on the season, but we think it’s worth splurging for a stay this special!

Hotel Unique is another amazing choice, especially for couples looking for somewhere romantic, with individually designed rooms and beautiful stone interiors. We also love the heated outdoor pool overlooking the marina, and some suites even feature private terraces and jacuzzis, so it’s a fantastic place to treat yourselves!

Infinity City Hotel – $

If you want to stay right in the heart of Fethiye without spending a fortune, Infinity City Hotel is a great find! It’s located right in Paspatur Old Town, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and bars, so you can step outside and immediately start exploring.

The rooms are modern and comfortable, with air conditioning and private bathrooms, and the buffet breakfast will fuel you for the day. You’re also just a couple of minutes’ walk from the harbor, making it easy to join boat trips or head out sightseeing.

One thing to know is that the surrounding streets can get pretty noisy at night, especially when the bars are busy. We wouldn’t recommend it for light sleepers! But if you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring Fethiye and want a central, affordable base, it’s hard to argue with this location. Rooms can start at around $100 USD per night, making it a great budget-friendly option!

Orka Boutique Hotel is another great option, with stylish rooms and beautiful harbor views. It’s right in the center of Fethiye, so you’ll have the waterfront promenade practically on your doorstep.

Alternatively, Nakas Hotel offers bright, modern rooms with practical amenities, and fantastic reviews to boot! It’s a convenient and comfortable choice, with friendly staff who go above and beyond to make you feel right at home.

Ölüdeniz

Beach life is best life!

BEST FOR LUXURY TRAVELERS & ICONIC BEACHES

Pros

  • Gorgeous beaches and luxury hotels with spectacular mountain views
  • Fantastic for paragliding, boat trips, and swimming

Cons

  • Very busy during peak summer
  • Farther from Fethiye’s main historical attractions

If your idea of a dream vacation involves turquoise water and dramatic mountain scenery, Ölüdeniz is hard to beat! This beautiful resort town is home to some of Turkey’s most famous beaches, so it’s good for couples on a romantic vacation as well as adventurous travelers looking for water sports.

Of course, the biggest attraction is the famous Blue Lagoon, where the calm, sheltered water is perfect for swimming. It’s part of a protected nature park, so there’s a separate entrance fee, but we think it’s well worth visiting! There’s also the main Ölüdeniz Beach, where you can relax on the sand and pebbles while watching paragliders floating down from Babadağ Mountain.

And if you’re feeling brave, you can even try paragliding yourself! It’s one of the area’s most popular activities, and the views over the coastline are absolutely incredible. We also recommend taking a boat trip to Butterfly Valley, a gorgeous cove surrounded by towering cliffs.

The main downside is that Ölüdeniz gets VERY busy during summer, and it’s around 20-30 minutes from Fethiye Town by dolmuş. However, if you’re after a beach vacation with plenty of adventure thrown in, it’s a fantastic place to stay!

Seyir Village Hotel – $$$

If you’re looking for a relaxing stay with beautiful mountain views, Seyir Village Hotel is worth a look! This friendly hotel is tucked away in Ovacık, above Ölüdeniz, and has a gorgeous outdoor swimming pool with a waterslide, plus a separate children’s pool. It’s perfect for families, but we would happily spend an afternoon lounging by that pool ourselves!

The rooms are bright and comfortable, and the on-site restaurant serves Turkish and international dishes. You’re also around a 10-minute walk from Hisarönü, which has plenty of restaurants and bars to explore.

Just bear in mind that this isn’t a beachfront hotel. Ölüdeniz Beach is around a 10-minute taxi ride away, so we think it’s best for travelers who don’t mind heading down to the coast for their beach days. Rooms can start at around $80–$300 USD per night,

If you’re after something more romantic, Ölüdeniz Loft is an adults-only boutique hotel with an outdoor pool and incredible views of the sea and surrounding mountains. It’s set above Ölüdeniz rather than directly on the beach, making it a fantastic choice for couples who prefer somewhere peaceful.

Another gorgeous option is Casa Lumar Luxury Lodging, an adults-only retreat in Hisarönü with luxurious suites, a beautiful swimming pool, and an on-site restaurant. Some suites even have direct pool access, which sounds like a pretty amazing way to spend a vacation!

Symbola Oludeniz Beach Hotel – $$

We think Symbola Oludeniz Beach Hotel is a fantastic mid-range choice, especially if you want to stay close to the beach! This beautiful hotel sits on a hillside among pine and olive trees, with traditional stone buildings that give it real character. It’s also only around 300 meters (984 feet) from Ölüdeniz Beach, which is a HUGE plus.

The rooms have a rustic feel, with stone walls and private balconies overlooking the sea or gardens. There’s also an outdoor swimming pool with gorgeous views, plus a restaurant where you can enjoy breakfast before heading out for the day.

We especially love that you can enjoy a peaceful setting while still being within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and shops. It’s a great balance, if you ask us! Expect to pay around $100 USD per night, depending on the season, which we think is pretty reasonable for such a gorgeous location.

If Symbola Oludeniz is fully booked for your travel dates, Morina Deluxe Hotel is another gorgeous option, with a large swimming pool surrounded by beautiful gardens. It’s around a 10-minute walk from Ölüdeniz Beach, making it ideal if you want somewhere peaceful without being too far from the action.

Or if you’re traveling with kids, Orka World Hotel & Aquapark is hard to beat, with several swimming pools and free guest access to a huge water park with slides and a lazy river. It’s in Ovacık, around 4 kilometers from Ölüdeniz Beach, but the hotel provides scheduled transfers to the water park, so there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained!

La Boutique Maya – $

If you’re looking for a beautiful boutique hotel without booking a huge resort, La Boutique Maya is a fantastic find! This stylish hotel has just 30 rooms, set around a gorgeous swimming pool and gardens filled with olive and lemon trees. It feels like a little oasis, despite being close to the center of Ölüdeniz – we genuinely cannot believe that this is a budget-friendly hotel.

The rooms are bright and modern, and some even have direct access to the swimming pool from their private terraces. There’s also an on-site restaurant and bar, so you can enjoy a relaxed evening without heading out. But if you do want to get out and explore, Ölüdeniz Beach and the area’s restaurants are within walking distance—perfect!

Rooms can start as low as $90 USD per night, making this boutique hotel an absolute steal for such a lovely setting.

For another affordable option, Güneş Boutique Hotel has a swimming pool, comfortable rooms, and a beautiful mountain backdrop. It’s located in Ovacık, about a 10-minute drive from the beach, so it’s worth considering if you don’t mind staying a little farther inland.

Meanwhile, The Kumsal Hotel Oludeniz is right on the beachfront, with an outdoor swimming pool and a seafront restaurant. We think it’s an amazing choice if you want to spend your days swimming and enjoying the views without traveling anywhere.

Çalış Beach

So pretty!

BEST FOR FAMILIES & AFFORDABLE BEACH STAYS

Pros

  • Long beach and waterfront promenade with lots of restaurants
  • Affordable hotels and easy access to Fethiye Town

Cons

  • Pebbly beach that’s less picturesque than Ölüdeniz
  • Quieter nightlife, and the sea can get choppy in the afternoon

If you’re after a beach vacation without the crowds of Ölüdeniz, Çalış Beach is a fantastic choice! This laid-back coastal area is especially popular with families and couples who want a relaxing getaway, and it’s generally more affordable than the bigger resorts.

The main attraction is the long stretch of sand and pebbles, backed by a waterfront promenade full of restaurants and bars. This is an ideal area to stay in if you want to spend your days relaxing and your evenings dining by the water. And trust us, Çalış is famous for its sunsets for good reason!

There’s more to do than just sunbathe, too. You can try water sports, visit the nearby bird sanctuary, or catch a seasonal water taxi across the bay to explore Fethiye’s Old Town and marina. The dolmuş is another easy option for getting around, too, as the journey into town only takes around 15 minutes.

One thing worth knowing is that Çalış Beach is quite pebbly, and the afternoon breeze can make the sea choppy. But it offers affordable accommodation and plenty of opportunities to eat and relax, so it’s great if you’re looking for a budget-friendly vacation.

SunTeos Villa Suites – $$$

If you’re traveling with family or friends and want a bit more privacy, SunTeos Villa Suites is a fantastic choice! These modern two-bedroom villas each have their own private swimming pool and garden, so you won’t have to worry about competing for sun loungers – phew!

The villas are beautifully furnished, with spacious living areas, fully equipped kitchens, and washing machines, which are especially handy for longer stays. There’s also outdoor seating and barbecue facilities, so you can enjoy a few meals at home.

Best of all, Çalış Beach is only a couple of minutes’ walk away, so you get the privacy of your own villa without being stuck miles from the sea. We highly recommend this place for families who want plenty of space to spread out! Expect to pay around $250 USD per night for an entire villa, which can work out to be great value when you’re splitting the cost with family or friends.

It’s also close to Çalış Beach, making it ideal if you want to spend your days by the water but still have your own space to unwind.

Or, for something completely different, Ece Hotel Sovalye Island sits on a peaceful, car-free island, with gorgeous sea views, an outdoor pool, and private access to the water. The hotel provides scheduled boat transfers from Çalış, so it’s a fantastic choice for a secluded getaway, although you’ll need to plan around the boat timetable.

Lill Maison Hotel & City Club – $$

We think Lill Maison Hotel & City Club is a fantastic option if you want somewhere stylish and relaxing! This modern boutique hotel has a gorgeous outdoor swimming pool surrounded by greenery, so it feels like a peaceful little escape from the busy streets.

The rooms are bright and contemporary, and the hotel has an on-site restaurant and bar, plus a fitness center and wellness facilities. You can even join yoga and fitness classes, which is a nice bonus if you like staying active on vacation!

One thing to know is that the hotel is in the Akarca neighborhood, about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from Çalış Beach, rather than directly on the waterfront. But if you don’t mind a short journey to the beach, we think the pool, facilities, and peaceful setting make it well worth considering. Budget around $110–$140 USD per night as a rough estimate, making it an appealing option for a stylish stay without luxury resort prices!

If you’d prefer somewhere right by the beach, Bahar Hotels has a fantastic location along the Çalış promenade, plus a swimming pool and rooms with balconies. It has a 12+ age policy, so this is a great choice for couples and families with older kids.

This friendly little hotel sits right along the seafront promenade, so you’ll have restaurants, bars, and the beach practically on your doorstep. Some rooms even have gorgeous balconies overlooking the water, which we definitely recommend booking if you can.

There’s also a restaurant overlooking Fethiye Bay, where you can enjoy breakfast with a view. Not a bad start to the day! You won’t find a swimming pool or luxury resort facilities here, but the location is the real selling point. The dolmuş stops nearby, and you’re within walking distance of the water taxi to Fethiye Town, so exploring without a car is easy. Rooms can start at around $50–$200 USD per night, which is a pretty sweet deal for a beachfront location!

Skykhan Otel is another excellent budget-friendly option, with modern rooms, a small outdoor swimming pool, and a location just a few minutes’ walk from Çalış Beach. It’s close to some lively bars, though, so it’s probably better suited to partygoers than light sleepers.

What’s an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital version of a SIM card. Instead of buying a little plastic chip and swapping it into your phone, you just download it. It connects your phone to a local network in whatever country you’re visiting — no stores, no waiting, and no fiddling with tiny cards.

In simple terms, it’s the easiest way to get data and stay connected while traveling.

We’ve tested a bunch of eSIMs over the years, and after a few frustrating experiences, we’ve found our favorite — Airalo. It’s fast, reliable, and incredibly easy to use. You can set it up in minutes (even my mom managed it solo on her first try!), and the prices are some of the best out there.
