Day 1

Morning – Explore Mykonos on a small-group sightseeing tour

We want you to make the most of your first day, so to do that, start it off by booking the 10 am option of this small group tour that has you walking, driving, and wowing your way across Mykonos’ top sights. Even better, it ends around 2:30 pm, giving you the rest of the day to keep exploring the island.

We started in Mykonos Town, where we weaved through the whitewashed alleys, dodging souvenir shoppers and getting to the less busy areas that we came to see. That’s when we realized we had the best guide of our entire Europe trip—Katarina! 

She knew every hidden corner of the island, bringing history to life with stories that made us see Mykonos beyond its pretty facade. She even helped us spot Petros the pelican, strutting around like he owned the place!

From there, we visited the Kato Milli windmills, feeling the strong Meltemi winds that once powered them. The views over Little Venice were incredible, and we could have stood there all day watching the waves crash against the colorful buildings.

Later, we escaped the crowds at Agrari Beach, where the soft sand and crystal-clear water were the perfect break before heading to Ano Mera for a light snack and a glass of tsipouro.

Afternoon – Your choice!

Now that you’ve seen the island’s highlights, you’ve got a couple of options going forward with the day. The first is a two-hour winery tour that takes you to local vineyards to sample wine, and the other is a 30-minute brewery tour that has you trying local craft beer. We have done both (and loved both!), but personally enjoyed the winery tour more because we got more great views. Either way, you can’t go wrong!

Option 1: Sample classic Mykonos wine at a local winery

If you’re going with the best wine tour on Mykonos, do yourself a favor and book the 4 pm option so you have just a little time in between the last tour and this one. You can grab a taxi to the meeting point or the public bus, since it connects the entire island and is easy to use. As a bonus, this tour includes plenty of snacks and appetizers, so it doubles as lunch!

From the moment we arrived at the thousand-year-old family vineyard, we were welcomed like old friends. As we wandered the groves, the owners shared heartfelt stories and timeless winemaking traditions passed down through generations.

After the tour, we gathered outdoors with glasses in hand, sipping local wines alongside traditional Mykonian appetizers. With the sounds of music in the background and the sun setting over the vines, it felt more like a relaxed gathering with friends than a formal tasting.

Option 2: Sip and sample Mykonos craft beer

If you’re reading this, it means you decided to go with the best brewery tour on the island (another great choice!). Go ahead and book the 4 pm option so you have time between tours to take the well-connected public bus or a taxi to its meeting point. We recommend getting a snack or lunch before it starts, so swing by Goody’s Burger House for something hearty or Veneti Bakery for something light. Both are close to where the tour kicks off!

The tour of Mykonos Brewery was incredible, and our guide, Yoshi, made the experience informative and fun, explaining the brewing process in a way that even non-beer experts could appreciate. With his mix of knowledge and humor, it felt like we were just hanging out with a friend who knew everything about beer.

The brewery itself is tucked inside a cave, adding to the tour’s unique atmosphere. As we stepped inside, the scent of hops filled the air, and Yoshi wasted no time pouring our first sample.

We tasted five beers, each one full of character. From a smooth, malty amber ale to a bold IPA bursting with citrus and pine, every brew showcased the creativity behind Mykonos Brewing Company. Late Afternoon/Early Evening – Explore downtown Mykonos

Regardless of which tour you took, you’ll need to grab a ride back to downtown Mykonos. Once you get there, you have plenty of fun things to see and places to explore. Below are a couple of spots we think you will enjoy.

Peek inside the Church of Panagia Paraportiani

Panagia Paraportiani is one of the most unique architectural sights in the Cyclades (the islands in the Aegean Sea) since it’s made up of five chapels all built at separate times throughout history. The result is a stunning white washed church, both inside and out, perched on the cliffs by the sea. A must-see for history buffs and architectural lovers. You actually saw this earlier on the tour, but you only got a moment here, so it’s worth coming back.

Stroll the Old Port & watch the fishermen

If you started at the church, just start walking north along the ocean to find yourself near Old Port. It’s a great spot to grab a coffee and watch fishermen unload the catch of the day. You’ll even spot the occasional pelican trying to steal a fish, which usually results in a lively exchange between the fishermen and the pelican. I’m not sure what the fishermen are saying, but I don’t think it’s “free fish!”.

Explore the beautiful whitewashed alleys

If you like to wander and see where your instincts take you, this is one of the best places to do it. Mykonos is simply stunning, so poke your head down random whitewashed alleys to see bright flowers, orange cats, and boutique shops. Just do yourself a favor and stop by Mavrogenous Square to see the statue of heroine Manto Mavrogenous. This is also the town’s main shopping area.

Dinner – Pelican Restaurant

Food makes for the best memories, am I right? I think I can remember every meal we have ever had at Pelican Restaurant for two reasons: the food is amazing, and the views are just as tasty. 

Set against the backdrop of the picturesque Old Port, they serve up traditional Greek flavor with a modern twist. The results are items like fresh sea bass served with a secret in-house sauce, roasted lamb (a favorite among locals), and absolutely perfect bruschetta. Seriously, if you’re a foodie, make a reservation in advance and treat yourself to an incredible meal.

Evening – Watch a film under the starry night sky

After dinner, if you want a fun evening activity, head over to Cine Manto to catch an open-air movie. They play the latest releases, and an outdoor movie is just a fun experience anyway! They usually have a showing at 9 pm, which we have found leaves enough time for dinner and then making the 5-minute walk to the theatre.

Day 2

Morning/Afternoon – Go on a full-day cruise to the beautiful Delos and Rhenia islands

Save the best for last, as they say, so today we bring you the best. This full-day cruise to Delos and Rhenia Islands is our favorite activity in Mykonos and boasts unparalleled Aegean beauty.

Book the 9:30 am slot so you get back around 3:30 and have time to explore more of the city if you didn’t get a chance to see all of our recommendations from yesterday. This tour does include a buffet lunch, but pack some snacks and eat a good breakfast before heading out.

The adventure started at Agios Ioannis Diakoftis, where we stepped onto a beautiful yacht and were welcomed by the crew. The sea breeze, the sound of waves, and a sip of chilled wine set the tone. 

As we cruised to Delos, we chose the guided tour—and it was totally worth it. Our guide brought the ancient ruins to life with stories of temples, mosaics, and the island’s vibrant past. Just note that entry tickets aren’t included.

Next, we sailed to Rhenia, where crystal-clear water invited us in for swimming and snorkeling while the crew kept the drinks coming. Then came a BBQ feast—grilled meats, fresh veggies, and the creamiest tzatziki we’ve ever tasted.

Dinner – Oregano Cook & Grill

A taverna frequented by locals and travellers alike, the Oregano Cook & Grill is a family-run restaurant that serves classic Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. It’s a casual spot where you can get octopus or lamb with fries, seafood pasta, salad, or any number of classics from their excellent menu. 

It’s just outside of the city center and is only an 8-minute walk from the sunset bar you’ll be going to next, making it delicious and convenient! As always, it helps to reach out and make a reservation beforehand.

Evening – Toast to your trip at 180° Sunset Bar

Unbeatable sunset views, live DJs, and dynamite cocktails make 180° Sunset Bar one of the best places in Mykonos to grab a drink and toast to your time here. It’s a casual spot with no dress code, but if you want to match the vibe, we suggest coming in smart-casual attire.

Because of its unobstructed views and incredible drinks, it is especially busy during peak season, so make a reservation beforehand. Trust me, this is where you will want to end an amazing two days!
