The sweet spot for booking Siem Reap accommodations is 3-4 months out—enough time to secure good rates but not so far ahead that you’re locking in plans excessively early.

Siem Reap Center
Siem Reap Center is the beating heart of the city, where the energy never really stops. That said, being in the center does come with a couple of trade-offs: it can get noisy, especially late at night, and prices for food and drinks tend to be slightly higher than in other parts of town. Still, the unbeatable convenience and vibrant vibe make it a favorite for many visitors.

The area is also wonderfully walkable; you can cross the river into the center in about 10 minutes, and tuk-tuks are always nearby if you’d rather ride. Wat Bo is especially appealing for couples or families looking for character-filled stays without being overwhelmed by the crowds.
The only downsides? Traffic can get a little hectic during the day, and nightlife here is limited compared to Pub Street. Still, the balance of convenience and charm makes it one of our favorite areas to stay.

On the plus side, that means peaceful evenings and a more relaxed atmosphere. This area is also home to the city’s Botanical Gardens (free to enter!) and the must-visit APOPO Hero Rats. The main drawback is that you might rely on transport more often, but the trade-off is waking up just minutes from one of the world’s greatest wonders.
